Riding Preparations


When going for a bike ride especially for a long distance you need to prepare and plan what to carry. Be alert on upcoming situation or danger while riding to avoid accidents.  Normally on a long distance ride you have to ride slowly so that you won't get tired quickly.
 
The things you need to have first and foremost is the repair kit. At least you will have a pump, wrench, a cellphone and money in case you need to commute if you are unable to ride for any reason. 
 
Second is food and water. You have to eat and drink well to enjoy the ride. You have to gain strength and energy through eating and drinking. Eat breakfast before the ride. Its is best to take plain water. In food you can eat energy foods and some sandwiches. 
 
Next is to have a map, in case you get lost especially on a ling ride. You may also need a compass which is essential in foreign countries. Also carry a GPS receiver.
 
Last is clothing. Wear clothes that can protect you from rain and the sun. You may use neoprene boots. This will keep you warm and dry from rainy or cold weather. Don't forget to bring raincoat and wear layers of clothing which allows you to adjust to the weather.
